BOOKSANDCOFFEE
8:00 AKIVA (MERRICK, NY)
Akiva moves and rocks and crackles and pops with the sounds of organic grooves and sweet lyrical proclamations. The twentysomething Long Islander recently teamed up with producer Philip A. Jimenez (WHEATUS) to present a mature and soulful chronicle of missed opportunities, self-discovery and universal truths. "Equal parts G.Love (of the Special Sauce), Dave Matthews, and David Gray, Akiva keeps it light and funky in a way sure to make the ladies swoon" - Starpolish.
9:00 BRENE WILSON (WILMINGTON, DE)
Once you hear the rhythmic grooves of Brene Wilson's guitar riffs, the personal tales of his lyrics and the catchiness of his melodies, you can't help but know you're hearing something cool and refreshing. Influenced by the likes of Duran Duran, Sade, R.E.M, Dave Matthews Band and Live. Brene creates his own style by fusing together the smoothness of pop with the edginess of alternative.
10:00 TIM ANTHONY (SYRACUSE, NY)
"In the finest pop rock spirit this is a rewarding spin for melodic pop mavens. Beatles inspired songs that are hook filled gems. Future releases from this proficient tunesmith should be of great interest for pop rock fans." Herald Journal, NY "This CD is lush, full commercial pop which melodically, vocally and instrumentally likens itself to The Raspberries, Fotomaker and The Rubinoos. Excellent combos for sure!" - Bruce Brodeen, Notlame Recordings
11:00 ARMS OF KISMET (CLIFTON, VA)
Careening between Americana, hip-hop and classic rock, Arms of Kismet summons a warm, analog vibe that sounds as natural in a coffeehouse as it does on a car radio. It makes for toe-tapping, tragicomic rock 'n' roll.

LIGHTHOUSE
Outside Stage A
8:00 MILKSHAKE JONES (HARRISBURG, PA)
Remember AM Radio? Milkshake Jones does. It was the time when every song was your favorite and you couldn't wait to hear what tune the DJ played next. This Harrisburg, PA-based combo blends the best of contemporary power-pop, a bit of 60's vintage rock and a sprinkling of alt.country to craft a sound uniquely its own.
9:20 MADE (WILMINGTON, DE)
MADE exudes a realness and originality in all the music they play. They take the freshness of pop, combine it with the energy of punk, and put on a show with music and lyrics you can't get enough of.
10:40 THE ANDY BROWNE TRIO (PHILADELPHIA, PA)
Post-modern, original, atmospheric rock, Euro-Brit influenced. Formed fall 2002 in Philadelphia. Fueled with an ever-evolving musical output. Slight hints of The Band, Radiohead, Lou Reed, Curtis Mayfield, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Clash, Coldplay, Woody Guthrie, The Pretenders and the Who flow thru.

Inside Stage B
8:40 RED NUMBER 40 (WILMINGTON, DE)
Original rock band that writes and performs introspective songs with healthy doses of cynicism and humor. Their performance is energetic and appeals to music fans who want to see musicians express themselves instead of "parroting" what is on the radio.
10:00 JENNIFER ON SUNDAY (FAIRFAX, VA)
This power-trio from Vienna, VA recently released their new album "Paper Covers Rock" and their tour schedule is growing. The music is not to be forgotten, whether you label it as modern rock or alternative, it's absolutely radio friendly.
11:20 MARLON SPIKE (WILMINGTON, DE)
A tight groove between drums and bass, virtuosic interplay between sax and piano, clever heartfelt lyrics, inspired songwriting, and a sound being hailed as "refreshingly original" with "great hooks"… Marlon Spike will fill the groove otherwise missing in your life.

RUSTY RUDDER

Outside Stage A

6:20 JUNKFOOD (ALEXANDRIA, VA)
Good Rock-n-Roll is hard to find nowadays. Big, unapologetic rock tunes with hooks so large you could hang a side of beef on them. JunkFood is fitting the bill. Their debut album "No Space", released in January 2004 to rave reviews, was produced by Todd Wright (GetawayCar, Excentrics) and mixed by Drew Mazurek (Linkin Park, Godhead).
7:40 A.J. & ALTERCANA (LANCASTER, PA)
"We like to give people something they can sink their teeth into," says singer-songwriter A.J. Dodging the "bubble gum pop, bubble gum punk, bubble gum everything" epidemic, A.J. & Altercana honor heroes Bob Mould, Jeff Buckley, and Tom Petty with meaty guitar rock where lyrics rule. The result: American roots rock with a wry smirk.
9:00 COREY ANDREW (NYC)
In a market saturated with mediocrity Corey Andrew and his band seamlessly combine an eclectic union of contemporary rock guitar, celestial strings and lush background harmonies to create a sound and style all their own. Corey's debut CD We're All Stars in its entirety maintains modern appeal while cleverly delivering reflective moments of classic 70's rock.
10:20 GRAHAM COLTON (Dallas,TX)
Graham Colton, the once solo acoustic singer/songwriter is now turning heads with a five-member band that bears his name.
From the moment they walk on stage, the members of Graham Colton emanate their passion for both music and performing. Before the band strikes its first note, the audience feels that special type of genuine chemistry that derives only from youth and raw anticipation.
11:40
MAPARRI (BOSTON, MA)
Out of the Boston music scene comes one of the most exciting rock bands to land in your hands. Mappari is a songwriter’s rock band that avoids the traps of trends and maintains an ever-growing prolific arsenal of material. Rock and roll is their weapon of choice and their adoring fans are their muses. The fan base has been exponentially growing since their first and sold out show in 1999. Their loyal street team ranges from Pontal, Brazil to Victoria, British Columbia. "Solid pop tinted with heavy powerful riff rock has the crowd’s attention... very radio friendly, complete with big catchy choruses and meaty hooks."

Outside Stage B
7:00 THE VAGUE (COLUMBUS, OH)
8:20 THE KNOBS (WILMINGTON, DE)
Equal parts Zombies, Pixies, Beach Boys and Soft Boys, the Knobs put out two critically-acclaimed records on North Carolina indie Mood Food (springboard for Ryan Adams‚ Whiskeytown) and are currently finishing up their third record, The Knobs Breakup and Die.
9:40 EVOKA (WINSTON-SALEM, NC)
11:00 THE IZZYS (NYC)
A brilliant and mercurial thread winds through the landscape of the American songbook like a Cadillac on a lost highway. Chameleon-like, sometimes it shows itself as the high-lonesome yelp of Bill Monroe or the haunting misgivings of Robert Johnson. Other times it is the reverb-drenched bravado of a Sun rockabilly record. And sometimes it's the can't-stop-dancing boogie of any number of dance tunes by Rufus Thomas, The Mighty Hannibal, or Prince. This thread is timeless; it is the quintessence of The American Song. The Izzys, a fully realized rock and roll outfit—cast in twang, thunder, and boogie—is driving this thread forward.
12:20
EDEN ROW (BOSTON, MA)
"Hailing from the city of Boston, MA, Eden Row is a post-punk pop band made for MTV's TRL - a la Sum 41, Good Charlotte, A Simple Plan, and Foo Fighters - while their live show is as crushing and explosive as old Van Halen! Eden Row is pushing the boundaries of their predecessors while defining the next step in the evolution of post-punk pop. Intelligent songwriting, intense emotion, and amazing live shows define this highly driven band from Beantown."

Inside Stage C
7:00 TABLE TOP POETS (BALTIMORE. MD)
Table Top Poets, an East Coast indie-rock outfit, borrow inspiration from both sides of the Atlantic combining Brit- Pop with American post-modern rock. TTP released The Secret EP in December of 2003 and are receiving airplay on several college stations throughout the country. Think U2 meets Pearl Jam.
8:20 CLIFF HILLIS & THE FORWARD THINKERS (WILMINGTON, DE)
Cliff Hillis now has the opportunity to showcase his musical skills with the release of his debut album Be Seeing You on NotLame Records. Contemplative singer/songwriter one minute, power popper the next, enigmatic love song balladeer three and a half minutes after that. You may think that you are hearing Paul McCartney meeting Michael Penn at a Posies reunion but you would be wrong. It's that East coast beach boy Cliff Hillis.
9:40 THE JANE ANCHOR (PHILADELPHIA, PA)
A veteran of the Philadelphia indie pop scene, singer/songwriter Kara Lafty recruited friends Joann Schmidt, John Faye, and Dave Anthony (all members of IKE) to begin work on her most heartfelt and sophisticated songs to date. This foursome is making waves at their live shows, opening for such acts as Bettie Serveert, Verbena, Mates of State, The Rosebuds, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
11:00 IKE (PHILADELPHIA, PA)
IKE's "Parallel Universe" CD contains the single "Deathbed (Na, Na, Na)" which received airplay on 30 commercial rock / pop stations nationwide, including Y-100 in Philadelphia, MIX106.5 in Baltimore, and WSTW in Wilmington, where it finished in the top 30 for 2003.
12:20 ELEVEN:54 (BALTIMORE, MD)
What do you get when you cross a metal kid, an emo punk rocker, a top 40 writer, and a hardcore punk drummer? ELEVEN:54! With a combination of catchy songs and high energy stage presence, its hard not to enjoy this band live.

Inside Stage D
7:40 CORI YARCKIN (ALTAMONTE SPRING, FL)
Definitely not a pop princess.  This girl rocks!  This singer/songwriter/performer recently won the AOL First Break contest and appears on Sessions@AOL.  Based in Orlando, Cori tours heavily.  She appeared last year at the Dewey Beach Music Conference.
9:00 THE BRILLIANT MISTAKES (NYC)
If Squeeze and Wilco formed a band they would sound a lot like Manhattan’s Brilliant Mistakes, who play bittersweet roots/pop with generous melody and wit. Their critically-acclaimed new album, Dumb Luck, contains 12 songs that stick in your head.
10:20 APE HOUSE (WASHINGTON, DC)
Upon the release of their debut album, the Japanese press proclaimed, "The new member of wonder appears." Now Ape House returns with their stellar follow-up, Tired of Style, mixing their trademark energy and wit with harmonic and dynamic sophistication.
11:40 THE JELLYBRICKS (HARRISBURG, PA)
Their brand new album, “Power This,” is loaded with relentless hooks, killer riffs, and tight harmonies. Capturing the energy of their live show, "Power This" truly justifies the band's acclaim as "One of the hottest pop-rock acts around." - FMQB
