Not too long ago, The Emptys sound was described as "multi-groove, swing your pants rock, built around songs featuring compelling vocal harmonies and agro-sax" - quite a description for a band that initially formed to simply jam on some quality rock tunes.

9:40 RADIO CAROLINE (BALTIMORE, MD)
Radio Carolne has pioneered a roots based blend of Rock, Blues, Funk, Soul and Country. Their sound is Americana Soul. Building their own recording studio allowed them to record at their own pace. This is obvious on every track.

The trio’s strong musicianship, dynamic stage energy and good-natured humor create an eclectic and engaging live experience.

9:00 WISE AND FOOLISH BUILDERS (WEST CHESTER, PA)
Wise and Foolish Builders deliver solid songs with smart lyrics that fit well in their richly layered and tightly arranged piano-driven indie-pop. Their songs range from the simple and sincere sensibilities of alt-country to the more dramatic, orchestral arrangements of pop music.

The New York band was formed with the vision of creating a new dimension to working-class rock by layering a sensual form of music within the angst by breaking the barrier of aggressive rock music with its incredible live shows, buoyantly playful alternative songs and introspective ruminations.

High energy, female fronted rock band based out of Baltimore, MD. The band's debut CD, "Free To Be" was released in September 2001. Currently touring the Eastern Seaboard, delivering strong and energetic performances to the audiences they are attracting everywhere.

The Alice Project plays an electrifying blend of pop, straightforward American rock, and folk. Always fun and surprising with potent lyrics and fine musicianship. BUNNY: Indie guitar-rock that’s emotional-NOT "emo" ...with a sense of punk-inspired angst that drives the listener to catchy hooks and melodies. The focus is clearly on the songs and the strength within each and every one of them.

11:00 STYGIAN VEIL (NEWARK, DE)
"Stygian Veil's CD is like a dark fairy tale. Singer Gina Degnars recalls a gothic Tori Amos while the band back her with more sonic darkness. The beauty of the songs are matched by their twisted nature. The powerful imagery in Degnars' lyrics is underscored by the dramatic music. Shamra's exotic pop / alternative style is connecting audiences with a proprietary blend of tight, clean, and sensual music. And if that isn't enough adjectives how about catchy, hip, unique, original, and please don't forget sassy.

9:00 THE UNDERWATER (YORK, PA)
Ex-members of hardcore band boywunder split to form the rock-inspired sound of the Underwater. Influenced by bands such as Virgos, Big Wreck, Filter, and Ours - their approach to rock is both familiar and unique. This is their 2nd show with their new drummer, Jesse Smith (x - ZAO).

10:20 3-STAR (HARRISBURG, PA)
3 Star is a 3 piece modern rock band from Harrisburg, PA Consisting of guitar, bass and drums. Sometimes heavy, but always melodic. Going from a whisper to a scream often in the same song. Sampling guitar, keyboards, and drum loops gives the band even more of a modern sound.

8:20 LOW POSTER (SAN FRANCISCO, CA)
With a shimmering guitar and a powerful rhythm section low poster is bringing a pure sound back to desperate ears. The lyrics are written with an unexpected honesty and the vocals are alive with memories of John Lennon and Neil Young.

9:40 ARMY OF ME (WASHINGTON, DC)
The Washington Post nailed it when they recently said: "(Vince Scheuerman) has a voice that can swoop and soar like one of his idols, Jeff Buckley, bend an ironic melody like Thom Yorke or Paul Kelly and carry a boxcar of emotion like Morrissey. Scheuerman has the goods to take it to that proverbial next level. In fact, he may already be there, and it's the rest of the world that's catching up." With dynamic drumming from Dennis Manuel, and Rock Solid bass playing from John Hutchins - Army of Me's big hooks, thought provoking lyrics, and high energy live shows make them definite contenders.

11:00 ZACH MYERS BAND (MEMPHIS, TN)
"What hadn't changed, was his effect on the well filled Hilton Ballroom. One of the conferences most anticipated performers, he delivered, backed by an outstanding bass player, all funky slaps and pops, and a well-integrated drummer...." Patriot News. His first full length release will be out in the late spring recorded at Ardent Studios, Memphis, produced by John Hampton (Gin Blossoms, Jimmie Vaughan, Jimmie and Stevie Ray Vaughan).

12:20 MARTINI BROS (HARRISBURG, PA)
The powerful trio hail from South Central Pennsylvania and have been rockin' the Mid-Atlantic music scene since they won Best Of The Bands at The Great Inter-State York Fair and released the 3-song 7" record on their Fatback Records label. The combination of their raucous live performances and 50's Brooklyn style saw the group labeled as a "rockabilly band"; but as the band and their sound matured the rock genre has become much harder to define.

7:40 KILGORE TROUT (NYC)
Kilgore Trout demands your attention, earns your respect and wants to entertain you with edgy pop songs filled with bliss and despair. With lyrical poetry woven between growling guitar rock the voice of Kilgore Trout echoes with innocence and integrity.

9:00 THE NAKED SAMS (BOSTON, MA)
Boston Rock is alive and well thanks to The Naked Sams. Voted best Rock n Roll band 2001 they look forward to teaming up with producers Don Dixon (REM, Smithereens) to follow up their latest LP Nozzle. These boys are all the ROCK you need.

This year's highlites includes a performance at the HFS'tival RFK Stadium and many festivals throughout the Mid Atlantic region. Currently in the studio finishing the highly anticipated new release, "for the sake of simplicity" in stores in November.

7:00 GREEN TO THINK (BLOOMFIELD, NJ)
Green To Think has officially exploded!! With a solid alt-rock sound, a molten new EP release and a sturdy veteran line-up to make it all happen, this foursome is erupting all over the greater NYC scene. Injust the last three months, GTT has performed for cable TV and web audiences from NYC's acclaimed Elbow Room, has secured slots for 3 songs in 2 upcoming films, Harlem's Beauty and Getting Stiffed, and has finalized the release of a bold new recording, SUNDAYS WERE MADE FOR THIS on Fake Chapter Records.

8:20 WAYNE SUPERGENIUS (YORK, PA)
Power pop and alt.country combined to create a catchy, hook filled music that's not quite pop, not quite country. However, fans of both will not want to miss Wayne Supergenius.

9:40 SULLY (TORONTO, CA)
SULLY have completed their northern incubation period and are preparing, once again, to enter the arms of North America. Ever since the late 2001 Canadian release of Bright Lights, SULLY's brand of expansive, hard-hitting pop has garnered them excellent reviews, TV appearances, a short-listed JUNO (the Canadian Grammy) award nomination, a CBC "Great Canadian Music Dream" placement, and most importantly, and opportunity to record their 4th album with Sonic Youth sound-guru Tim Glasgow.

New York City's edible red is an eclectic mix of many styles ranging from No Doubt, Chili Peppers, PJ Harvey to Morphine. They have appeared on The Learning Channel's "A Makeover Story", had a song featured on MTV's "Undressed".

12:20 JONASAY (BALTIMORE, MD)
Hailing from the Baltimore / Washington area, Jonasay, in just a short period of time, has not only developed a loyal following but also impressed some of the industry's most respected players. "Jonasay kicks ass ... great songwriting," says Matt Scannell of Vertical Horizon.

7:40 A.J. & ALTERCANA (LANCASTER, PA)
Dodging the "bubble gum pop, bubble gum punk, bubble gum everything" epidemic, A.J. honors heroes like Bob Mould with meaty guitar rock where lyrics rule. The result: American roots rock with a wry smirk. Now with a full band behind him, A.J. and Altercana begin to take it all to the next level.

9:00 NIKI BARR (DENTON, MD)
Upon seeing and hearing eighteen-year-old Eastern Shore native Niki Barr it's easy to come to the conclusion that she is "good for her age." But repeated listening of her lyrics and melodies, and the more times you see her perform live, it becomes quite clear that Barr is just plain talented period, age aside.

10:20 JEZNICK (BALTIMORE, MD)
If Natalie Merchant, Alanis Morrisette and Tracy Chapman received a sperm donation from Dave Matthews, that offspring would be Nicky Stacy and her ultra-talented band Jeznick. Cutting lyrics delivered by a soulfully sweet voice and accompanied by an amazing band.

11:40 DRIVER (LEHIGH VALLEY, PA) Allentown, PA's Driver is a personality in and of itself, a formation of four people, each influenced by many. All band members share equal songwriting credits, driven by a singular vision. Never satisfied with following trends, Driver has a sound that is refreshingly original, influenced by many, driven by a singular vision. Driver's most notable accomplishments: MP3.com song search contest winners. Farmclub.com featured artist December 2000. WZZO 2001 Backyard Bands Competition finalists.
