SATURDAY 9-28
7:00 ELLEN CHERRY (BALTIMORE, MD)
In forty words and four sentences, I describe us.
ellen cherry is three people playing three instruments on stage.
The energy is high, the music good; lyrics, better.
A pop/rock trio that saves you from radio boredom and apathy.
8:00 MEGHAN CARY (HERSHEY, PA)
"Can the world stand one more storytelling troubadour?
If the artist in question is Cary, the answer is a resounding
YES. Seek this one out." --- Billboard Magazine
Drawing comparisons to Shawn Colvin, Bruce Springsteen and Stevie
Nicks, Meghan Cary tours the
US playing such venues as: The Tin Angel (Philadelphia), The
Whitaker Center (Harrisburg), Eddie's
Attic (Atlanta), and of course, the Bitter End, CBGB's and
Knitting Factory in NYC.
9:00 RAT WAKES RED (NYC)
Rat Wakes Red began as James Raftery creating songs in late
night living room light. His debut CD "Dizzy on Daddy" is
romantic and edgy, cryptic and poetic, with sad and sweet
walls of sound. The darker side of mellowness.
10:00 TRAVIS ABERCROMBIE (NASHVILLE, TN)
Travis Abercrombie is in the style of many adult alternative
rock bands today. The new CD, "Spin" is considered from
top to bottom a commercial, in-your-face modern rock
album with sincere lyrics and catchy melodies. Artist
influences range from Train and Tonic to U2.
11:00 MATT CHEPLIC & THE MYTH (KEARNY, NJ)
Matt's songs recall English pop masters
like The Beatles and Elvis Costello with appealing
melodies cradled by imaginative arrangements.
But his rich baritone voice and cool delivery reveal a
soulful side with definitely takes its cue from this side of
the Atlantic. Recently, Matt pulled off an amazing feat when his
video for "Deliver Me" found its way onto MTV, making it one of the few
truly indie videos on the MTV airwaves.
12:00 ANDY GERMAK (NYC)
Deeply descriptive in his songwriting, Andy Germak's thoughtful verse is at
once highly reflective everyday ruminations while occasionally achieving a
distinct form of 21st century protest music. His song, "Spoonfed" is
featured on Vigil (Conscious Records), a 9/11 tribute CD compiled by Suzanne
Vega.
